TCP Tuesday-The More the Merrier

The theme for this month’s TCP Tuesday challenge is “the more the merrier.” The challenge is to pile it on your card—think lots of layers and embellishments. For a clean and simple favoring designer like me, this challenge is scary. Here’s my first take on it—please be kind!

I used the new What’s Mew set for my design. Sparkle’s stamped in black ink and colored with Copic markers. It’s hard to see in the photo, but to get a dimensional look, the grasses in front of Sparkle are adhered to the image with some foam tape.

Sparkle’s set on a scene made from a panel of light blue cardstock with a debossed dot pattern. I added a trio of white felt clouds, cut apart from a strip I cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die. To go with the clouds, I created a sun embellishment from a yellow button, tied with orange baker’s twine and set on a small pinking edged circle. I stamped the set’s “hello” sentiment on a piece of golden yellow dotted paper. I added a few enamel dots around the word to accent it. The sentiment panel is topped with a strip of green grass cut with the CutUps Grass Border die. I added another strip of green along the bottom to balance it before adhering it on top of the light blue panel. The blue panel is matted on a golden yellow panel, then set over a green strip that runs the length of the kraft card base.

You can find all of the details on this month’s challenge here or in the TCP member company forum on SCS.

  1. I think the hardest thing about a challenge like this is to know when enough is enough (without being not enough or too "enough"). I'd say you achieved a very pleasing balance with all your embellishments. They don't overwhelm your image at all. Way to go!!
