You Are My Sunshine

Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I took my inspiration from the two circles on the layout and switched them from elegant rosettes to a whimsical sun and felt clouds.

I made the sun by layering an orange gingham circle on a golden yellow pinking edged circle die cut. The pinked edge replaces the dimension of the rosette’s folds. I arranged a pair of die cut white felt clouds overlapping the sun (and found that my Lil’ Inker cloud die is missing—hopefully it will reappear when I clean up my stamping space a little!).

I stamped the “you are my sunshine” sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes stamp set on a pale blue strip in a slightly darker shade of blue ink, then adhered it to the card overlapping the sun. A few iridescent sequins scattered around the sun and clouds finish off the cheery design.

Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Sweet Corn cardstock (Gina K Designs); Orange Zest patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Recollections Aqua Screen patterned paper (Michaels); circle and pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); cloud dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); iridescent sequins (Darice); white felt; foam tape

  2. Your card is wonderful, I adore the gingham sun and the felt clouds, what a great combo! I lost a couple of small stamps a couple of weeks ago and it's sooo frustrating.. I keep hoping they will show up but it's not looking good lol.

  3. great spin on Therese's card. I have never thought of die cutting clouds in felt, it really looks good and gingham for the sun is inspired x
