You Float My Boat

I just got some fun wood veneer sailboats from Studio Calico to use for summer projects. I ripped open the package and put together this nautical design based on the current sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping.

I placed the wood boat on a piece of blue scalloped patterned paper that has a wave-like look—the perfect background for a boat! I edged the panel with a kraft mat, then adhered a bunch of different width fishtail flag banner strips to the bottom, varying the lengths of the strips for interest. After adding a pair of red brads to the patterned paper panel, I adhered it to a blue card base.

The “you float my boat” sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Tiny Treats:  Valentine set is stamped in blue ink in the open space to the left of the boat. I wish the sentiment had been a bit bigger so it would stand out more against the waves . . .

Materials Used:
Tiny Treats: Valentine stamp set (Papertrey Ink); Memento Teal Zeal ink (Tsukineko); Blue Bayou, Real Red, and Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Fresh 6x6 paper pad (Authentique); Fishtail Flag Stax and Fishtail Flag Layers Stax dies (My Favorite Things); sailboat wood veneer (Studio Calico); red brads (Joann)
