Color Throwdown 253-Riding By
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week’s challenge is hosted by Wanda. She’s chosen Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, and Smokey Shadow as our colors.
this week’s sketch from Retro Sketches as the basis for my design. I also squeezed in a pair of SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenges—you can find all the challenge info here. The focal image is the scooter from the Clear and Simple Stamps Across the Miles stamp set. The scooter was die cut from white cardstock, then stamped and colored with Copic markers.
I used foam tape to set it on a simple scene made from a gingham stamped “sky” with a strip of gray cardstock “road” at the bottom. A pair of fluffy white die cut felt clouds dot the sky. I brought in just a pop of yellow with a button with a piece of matching satin ribbon threaded through the button holes and knotted at the top. The scene is matted on a piece of turquoise cardstock and adhered at the top of a white card base. The “riding by to say hi” sentiment is stamped just beneath the scene in turquoise ink.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD253. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and July's guest designer, Stacey Schafer. We’ve loved having her play along with us this month!
