You've Got Style

When I saw that my new i {heart} papers teammate Sarah was today's SCS featured stamper, I had to play along in the challenge.  My card is based on this design in Sarah's gallery.  I also incorporated two Dare to Get Dirty challenges in my design.  These challenges are an annual event for SCS fan club members and a lot of fun!  And, there are great prizes for challenge participants, too.  You can find all the details here.

For the background, I inked part of a swirly embossing folder with some kraft ink before running the folder and my white paper through my die cutting machine.   I topped the embossed and inked paper with a brown chevron patterned paper strip edged with a red stitched scallop border strip.

I stamped the "you've got style" sentiment from Verve's Express Yourself set in brown ink on a kraft panel.  The set's purse image, stamped in a bold red ink, is attached to the bottom of the panel with foam tape.  I dug around in my scrap stash and found some brown satin ribbon to use to make a pretty bow as an accent at the top of the panel.  The panel is adhered to the white partially embossed panel on an angle, over the chevron patterned strip. I set the finished panel on a kraft card base.
