Bright Birthday Balloons

Here’s my card for the last Viva la Verve sketch for August. I used the sketch to make a bright birthday card.

Both the focal image and sentiment come from Verve’s Birthday Bash stamp set. I stamped the balloons so that they extended slightly off of the top of the image panel, then used foam tape to add pink and yellow balloons to the panel for a pop of color.

I used two different patterned papers from a Doodlebug Design paper pad for the card—a dotted green strip just underneath the image panel and a multicolored striped panel to cover the bottom half of the cardfront. I paired them with a cheery yellow panel and some bright pink grosgrain ribbon. And, for a final festive touch, I slipped a yellow die cut pennant strip underneath the bottom edge of the ribbon strip.

Materials Used:
Birthday Bash stamp set, pennant die (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Lemon Drop cardstock (My Favorite Things); Flower Box 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); pink grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); foam tape
