Hello Honey

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Cool Shades challenge. I used the colors with this week’s sketch from Retro Sketches for this sweet design.

I cut a partial heart shape from a piece of coral patterned paper and attached the die cut piece to a kraft panel wrapped with yellow baker’s twine. To fill in the open space, I stamped one of the bee images from the Bee Mine set on white cardstock and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers, then cut it out and used dimensional dots to adhere it to the panel. I added a piece of a clear crystal flourish extending out from behind the bee to form a flight trail.

The set’s “hello honey” sentiment is stamped beneath the bee in black ink. On the stamp, the words are stacked one on top of the other, but since the stamp is clear, it was easy to selectively ink each word and stamp them side by side instead.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Bee Mine stamp set, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Spectrum Noir markers (CT1, CT2, CT4, BT1, BT2), Echo Park Beautiful Life 6x6 paper pad, Divine Twine yellow baker’s twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Close to Cocoa cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); heart die (Spellbinders); clear crystal flourish (Michaels)
