TCP Tuesday-Let's Take Off

The theme for this month’s TCP Tuesday challenge theme is long and tall.  As cardmakers, we tend to work with A2 sized cards or maybe, if we're stretching ourselves, square or round ones.  For this challenge, we’re creating cards that fit an number 9 envelope, better known as a standard business sized one. My card measures 8 ¾” x 3 ¾” and fits perfectly inside one of these tall envies.

I made a little scene on my card featuring the kite flying penguin from the Up, Up, and Away set. I stamped the penguin in Versafine black ink, then colored him with some Copic markers. The kite is paper pieced with a scrap of diamond patterned paper.

I used foam tape to set the penguin on a light blue panel with a debossed dot pattern. The clouds in the sky around him are from a strip of clouds cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die. I simply trimmed the clouds apart and arranged them on the panel. The grass at the bottom of the panel is cut with the CutUps Grass Border die. I stamped the set’s “let’s take off” sentiment on the grass, again using my Versafine black ink, then tied a strip of green satin ribbon around the panel. The finished panel is set on a navy panel for a nice contrast.

You can find all of the details on this month’s challenge and how you could be our next Swanky Stamper here on Alma's blog or here in the TCP member company forum on SCS.
