You Float my Boat

Here’s my card for this month’s Avery Elle AEI♥U challenge. I used the sketch to create a nautical themed design.

I colored the boat image from the Knotty set with Spectrum Noir markers, then carefully cut it out. I made a simple backdrop for the boat from a light blue panel with a debossed dot pattern and a turquoise cardstock strip punched with a wave border punch. The wave strip is wrapped with some white twine and stamped with the set’s “you float my boat” sentiment. I added a die cut felt cloud to finish the scene, then adhered the panel to a light blue panel with a strip of red patterned paper along the left side for an additional pop of red.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Avery Elle Knotty stamp set, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Spectrum Noir markers (CR1, CR7, CR8, CR10, DR4, TN3, TN4, TN5, TN7, BT1, BT2), Lily Bee Design Pinwheel 6x6 paper pad, Lifestyle Crafts Spotted embossing folder, Hemptique white twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Real Red and Tempting Turquoise cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); cloud die (Lil’ Inker Designs); white felt (Michaels); Boundary Waters border punch (Fiskars)
