Ahoy Matey

Here's my card for the first Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge.  I've missed playing along in the weekly Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch challenges, so I was happy to see this challenge blog start up.

I used my all-time favorite Waltzingmouse set for my card, Half Pint Heroes, and turned the sketch into an ocean scene featuring the set's submarine image.  The sub was colored with a combination of Copic markers and a silver gel pen.  The largest porthole is covered with a clear dome sticker for a glass-like look.

The cutout sub image is adhered to a blue cardstock panel with a freehand cut wavy edge.  I layered two torn kraft cardstock strips at the bottom of the panel to look like a sandy patch and added a trio of stamped and colored fish.  The panel is adhered to a dotted aqua panel "sky," then set on an aqua card base.  After considering a few different placement options, I stamped the "ahoy matey" sentiment on a strip of aqua cardstock and adhered it to the dotted paper panel above the sub image to finish the card.

Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, and Kraft cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); clear dome sticker (Michaels); silver gel pen (Pentel); foam tape
