L'Shana Tova

Wednesday evening marked the start of the Jewish new year.  I made this simple design featuring warm colors and an apple icon to mark the occasion--and for the current apple themed challenge at CAS-ology.

I used stamps from the Kibitzing Icons and coordinating Kibitzing Sampler sets from Paper Smooches for the card.  I was so excited that Kim from PS was interested in creating stamp sets for Jewish holidays and events--and honored that she asked my input in developing the sets late last year.  This card features the apples and honey image--a traditional food eaten to celebrate a sweet new year.

The image is colored with Spectrum Noir markers and adhered to a contrasting red circle.  I attached the circle to the cardfront over a gold on gold striped strip of patterned paper.  The "l'shana tova" sentiment (a traditional new year greeting) is stamped on the patterned paper in black ink.  A piece of knotted red faux suede ribbon sits at the side of the image panel as an accent.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Paper Smooches Kibitzing Icons and Kibitzing Sampler stamp sets, Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Spectrum Noir markers (CR1, CR8, CR9, DR4, CG1, CG3, CG4, DG3, GB2, GB3, GB5, TN3, TN5, TN7), Simple Stories Say Cheese 6x6 paper pad, May Arts red faux suede ribbon

other:  Real Red cardstock, scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!); Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); circle die (Spellbinders); pierced circle die (My Favorite Things)
