Happy Birthday to You

Here’s a simple feminine birthday card for this week’s sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I replaced the sketch’s large round panel with a die cut and stamped layer cake.

Happy BirthdayThe cake was die cut with the Cake die from Clear and Simple Stamps, then stamped with the matching cake outline and filler and cake stand images from the Cake Decorating and Cake Decorating Extras stamp sets. I love the fun polka dotted pattern on the cake! I used foam tape to set the cake in place on a white cardstock panel.

The cake is topped with a dark pink banner die cut with one of the dies from the Banner Flags set and stamped with the matching banner outline image. I found the “happy birthday to you” sentiment in the Cloudy Days Sentiments set. Curved on my clear block to match the shape of the banner, it was a perfect fit!

Materials Used:
Cake Decorating, Cake Decorating Extras, Banner Flags 2, and Cloudy Days Sentiments stamp sets, Perfect Little Black Dress ink, I’m a Princess Pink, Paint the Town Pink, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Cake and Banner Flags dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Memento Luxe Angel Pink ink (Tsukineko); foam tape
