Happy Haunting

I’m joining in on today’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party.  My project's for the "Greenish Halloweenish" category and I think it fits the bill pretty well!

My card’s design is based on this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I had some fun green striped glassine treat bags in my stash, so I started off with the idea of incorporating one of the bags in my design. The bag ended up being one of the layers on my card. After stamping the “happy haunting” sentiment from the Hocus Pocus set on the bag in black ink, I adhered the bag to a chevron embossed gray panel. To highlight the chevron pattern, I lightly brushed a white ink pad over the raised portion of the image. I really like how it looks! I made sure to attach the bag to the cardfront with the top still open so that a treat—or a gift card—can be tucked inside.

I topped the bag with a strip of purple cardstock edged with some gray mini pom pom trim left on my desk from an earlier project. For my focal image panel, I combined one of the frames from the Cameo Maker set with the silhouette witch image from the Hocus Pocus set. The images are stamped in black ink on a green oval and layered on a gray oval mat. Once these pieces were in place, I went back and tucked a pair of green and purple fishtail flags underneath the purple cardstock strip that runs across the card. The finished panel is adhered to a coordinating green card base. Glad I still have some of this now-retired SU! cardstock in my stash--it's perfect for Halloween cards!
