So Happy for You

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The card was inspired by the colors and floral images in Dawn’s current Monday Mood Board.

I used the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals stamp set for my floral arrangement. The flowers are stamped on white die cut pieces in a bunch of different Memento inks. I played around with the arrangement a bit (okay, a lot!) before settling on what you see here. Once I had the flowers and leaves all glued down, I stamped the “so happy for you” sentiment from the Strictly Sentiments 2 set to the left of the flowers in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink.

I matted the sentiment panel on red cardstock for contrast. It’s attached to the center of a delicate white paper doily. The doily is adhered to a piece of golden yellow patterned paper. I auditioned a few different colors for my card base (red, kraft, golden yellow) before settling on the crisp, plain white you see here.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals and Strictly Sentiments 2 stamp sets and Fresh Cut Florals dies, Tsukineko Memento Dandelion, Danube Blue, Love Letter, Nautical BlueRhubarb Stalk, Summer Sky, Bamboo Leaves, and Tuxedo Black inks, Carta Bella Traditions 6x6 paper pad, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

Other: Real Red and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); paper doily
