Spooky Scene Inspired

Here's my card for the current Curtain Call inspiration challenge.  It also fits this week's Halloween themed project challenge at The Paper Players.

I took my inspiration from the skeleton decoration hanging on the black door in the inspiration photo.  On my card, I used the skeleton image from the Clear and Simple Stamps Party Elements:  31 set on a black tag die cut.  I found that the image fit perfectly on CSS's Tags 1 die!  So that the image would really stand out against the black background, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder before adding a double looped orange and black gingham bow to the top of the tag.

The tag is set on an orange card base over a pair of patterned papers from a Halloween paper pad.  I also added a little washi tape to the layered papers for some texture.  Once the tag was in place, I stamped the "trick or treat" sentiment on the patterned paper next to the tag and added a few coppery sequins around it.  To go with the distressed look of the patterned papers and skeleton image, I rubbed my white ink pad over the orange background panel before setting it in place on the black card base.

Materials Used:
Party Elements:  31 stamp set, A Blanc Check and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, Orange You Fabulous and Perfect Little Black Dress cardstock, Tags 1 die (Clear and Simple Stamps); The Apothecary Emporium 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); orange gingham ribbon (Creative Impressions); white embossing powder, sequins (Michaels); gray dotted washi tape; Bow Easy; foam tape
