TCP Tuesday-Have a Sweet Holiday Season

The theme for this month’s TCP Tuesday challenge is an (anti-) embellishment challenge. The challenge is to limit the embellishments used on your designs to no more than two—and those two can’t include buttons, twine, or gems.

Here’s my second take on the challenge. I created a holiday themed design using the gingerbread man from the Homemade for the Holidays set as my focal image. I stamped the gingerbread man outline and details in black ink, then heat embossed the image. After cutting it out, I inked the image with distress inks for a just-baked look. The icing details were filled in with a tiny paint brush and some Copic Opaque White paint. Passes for icing, doesn’t it?

The finished image is adhered to a striped patterned paper panel using foam tape. I stamped the “have a sweet holiday season” beneath the gingerbread man in black ink. It’s embossed to help it stand out from the pattern. I ran a strip of brown paper, edged with a scalloped strip cut with the CutUps Queen of Hearts border die, across the bottom of the panel. A bit of glitter, applied over a narrow strip of double sided adhesive, adds a little festive touch to the design.

You can find more inspiration from the Cat Pack along with all of the details on this month’s challenge and how you could be our next Swanky Stamper here.
