Dude, Chill!

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Cool Shades challenge including light aqua, light green, red, and orange. I used the colors along with the current sketch at Retro Sketches to make this clean and simple wintery design.

One of the snowmen from the Swanky Snowdudes set is my focal image. I die cut the image with the matching die from the Snowdudes set and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.

I adhered a panel of green patterned paper across most of an aqua card base. The “dude, chill” sentiment from the Freezy Fellas set is stamped in red ink on a strip of white vellum. I layered the vellum on to the card base over the patterned paper panel. The red ink really pops against the green background. The snowman is attached on top with some dimensional dots. The adhesive for the vellum panel is hidden underneath him—sneaky, right? I finished things off with a few white sequin “snowflakes.”

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes and Freezy Fellas stamp sets and Snowdudes dies, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Love Letter ink, Spectrum Noir markers (OR1, CG3, CG4, CR8, BT1, BT2), Echo Park Bundle of Joy-Boy 6x6 paper pad, white sequins, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white vellum (The Paper Company)
