Let it Snow

Here’s a simple wintery design inspired by this week’s Muse challenge. I took my cues from the inspiration card’s layout and monochromatic color scheme—and, obviously, the pretty snowflakes!

Let it Snow-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Clear and Simple Stamps
Instead of using shades of purple, I used a trio of different blue inks to stamp different snowflake images from the new Flurry Days stamp set from Clear and Simple Stamps. For a wintery sparkle, I stamped the flakes on CSS’s White Pearl cardstock. It’s so pretty in real life! The “let it snow” sentiment from the Flurry Days Sentiments set is stamped near the center of the card in navy blue ink. I matted the stamped panel on a light blue cardstock panel, then set it on a teal card base.

After I had all of the pieces assembled, I decided to add just a little bit more sparkle. Each of the small snowflakes is dotted at the center with a bit of Crystal Stickles. I added a clear crystal to the center of each large flake—I tried Stickles first, but decided the crystals looked better on the larger flakes than the Stickles did.

Materials Used:
Flurry Days and Flurry Days Sentiments stamp sets, True Blue Fan, Simply Blue-tiful, Party Teal Dawn, and Trendsetter Blue inks, Party Teal Dawn, My Style Blueprint, and White Pearl cardstock (Clear and Simple Stamps); Crystal Stickles (Ranger); clear crystals (Michaels)
