Peace, Joy, and Penguins

I'm still having fun playing with my stamps and dies from last week's new release from The Cat's Pajamas.  The release includes a pair of sets featuring TCP's signature penguins.  This one is based on the current Deconstructed Sketch and uses the new Peace, Joy, and Penguins set.

Designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas
I colored the penguin trio just a bit with Copic markers. This time, I added a little texture to the image by putting some faux fur (also known as white flock) on the bottom penguin's Santa hat.  The set's "peace, joy, and penguins" sentiment is stamped along the right edge of the image panel.  I rounded two of the panel's corners, then layered it on a red cardstock mat.

The image is layered over a piece of red and kraft gingham patterned paper.  The pattern's broken up a bit with a strip of solid red cardstock layered with a kraft notch-ended strip.  A red satin bow, made with my Bow Easy, sits along the side of the image panel opposite the sentiment and adds just a little festive shine to the card.

Materials Used:
Peace, Joy, and Penguins stamp set, Neenah white cardstock (The Cat's Pajamas); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Fresh Goods-Rain Check designer paper (Pebbles); corner rounder

  1. Lori - your penguins are adorable! I think your showcase of this trio of cute is incentive for a shopping trip over at TCP! Thanks for the inspiration (and the temptation!). Your warm comment on my first Colour Throwdown entry: THANK YOU! Happy Sunday!
