Simple Season's Greetings and a Sale

With Thanksgiving coming up in just a few short days, the countdown to the holidays--and to finishing up holiday cards--is on.  I used the J*lly H*liday set from The Cat's Pajamas to put this festive design together. It’s based on the current sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.

Season's Greetings-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas
I stamped the set's ornament image 5 times across a white panel. I tried to get them placed in a somewhat even, curved formation, but I’m not sure I really was successful with that. The ornaments are colored with Copic markers. I used a ruler and fine tipped pen to add strings extending from the top of the ornament to the top of the panel. The “season’s greetings” sentiment from the Simply Holiday set is stamped beneath the ornaments in black ink.

I matted the stamped panel on shiny silver paper, then adhered it to a red card base. I used the CutUps Big Scallop Border die to cut a decorative piece to add to the bottom edge of red strip that runs across the cardfront. The red strip was wrapped with a piece of black baker’s twine before I attached it to the card. I probably should have used something sparkly and silver instead . . .

Black Friday is traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year in the US. The Cat’s Pajamas is getting started a bit early (today!) and celebrating through Monday, now known as Cyber Monday. All stamps and dies are 40% (yes, 40%!) off of retail pricing. Products on the rest of the site are 25% off. So, if you’ve had your eye on some big eared bunny sets or cool CutUps dies, now’s the time to add them to your collection. Happy shopping!
