Sunshine and Smiles

This week’s blogger challenge theme is buttons. I used a single button on this cheery design using the current Deconstructed Sketch as a starting point.

Wishing You Sunshine and Smiles-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker DesignsMy button serves as a sun, set against a fluffy white felt cloud. The button is tied with some matching yellow baker’s twine. I layered the button and cloud over a die cut light blue polka dotted stitched circle. The “wishing you sunshine and smiles” sentiment from the Lil’ Inker Designs Sun Sentiments set is stamped above the sun and cloud in teal ink.

I matched the colors of the sun and dotted “sky” with patterned papers from the Fancy Pants Park Bench collection. I used a chevron patterned strip of paper along the right edge of the cardfront and a pretty floral strip beneath the round panel. A small golden yellow fishtail flag strip extending out from the die cut cloud breaks up the patterns just a little.  I set the finished panel on an easy to write on golden yellow card base.

Materials Used:
Sun Sentiments stamp set, cloud and stitched circle dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); Memento Luxe Teal Zeal ink (Tsukineko); Bashful Blue and So Saffron cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Spring Rain patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Park Bench 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax Layers die (My Favorite Things); yellow button, white felt (Michaels); yellow baker’s twine (Divine Twine)

  2. This is wonderful Lori. I love the way you used the different papers - that solid blue panel really set everything off! Thanks for joining us for DS128!
