Winter Wishes

Here's my card for the final Viva la Verve sketch for November.  My card's a wintery take on the sketch using Verve's Winter Mittens set.

Winter Wishes-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps
I stamped the mitten pair on a scrap of white cardstock, omitting the "string" connecting the pair.  They're colored with Copic markers and cut out, then attached to a die cut pierced oval using foam tape.  I positioned them so that there was space at the bottom of the panel to stamp the set's "winter wishes" sentiment in navy ink.

The image panel is adhered over a pair of coordinating patterned paper panels from a winter paper pad.  The patterned pieces are matted with blue cardstock to go with the soft blues in the papers and to give them some contrast against the light blue background.  Once all of the pieces were in place, I wrapped a piece of light blue grosgrain ribbon around the panel and secured it with a knot. A trio of blue sequins on and around the image panel adds a little sparkle to the wintery design.

Materials Used:
Winter Mittens stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue cardstock (Stampin' Up!);  The Arctic Wishes Matstack (DCWV); Die-namics Pierced Oval die (My Favorite Things); light blue grosgrain ribbon, blue sequins (Michaels); foam tape
