Missing You This Holiday Season

Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. Even though it’s going to be in the upper 60’s here today (way to start the first official day of winter, right??), I went with a wintery design for this one.

Missing You This Holiday Season-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from My Favorite Things
I freehand cut a pair of snowbanks from shimmery white cardstock. The snowbanks are layered at the bottom of a piece of light blue cardstock embossed with a snowflake pattern. It’s hard to see in the photo, but I rubbed the raised portions of the blue panel with shimmery white ink to give the snowflakes a sparkly look.

I used the Pure Innocence Warm Winter set to fill in the scene. The girl is colored with Copic markers and cut out. I added a little texture to the image by adding a little bit of white flock to her hat. I used foam tape to put her in place over the snowbanks. The set’s “missing you this holiday season” sentiment is stamped on a light purple cardstock strip that stretches across the cardfront just beneath the image.

Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Warm Winter stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Moonlight White inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Snowflake embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts); white flock (Stampendous); foam tape
