They Will Never Forget the Way You Made them Feel

Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch.  It's also doubling as my entry for this month's Verve Diva Dare, which is to showcase your favorite Verve stamp set.  Being a teacher, I have a soft spot in my heart for Verve's teacher themed set, Teachers Count, so I used it for my card.

They Will Never Forget the Way You Made them Feel-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve StampsI used one of the set's sentiments as my focal image.  It's stamped in red ink on a scallop edged kraft panel.  I layered the panel over a pretty floral patterned paper.  The patterned paper features a primary color scheme, which always says school to me!   I added a pair of die cut apples, cut with Verve's apple dies and stamped with the matching apple and leaf images from the Teachers Count set, to the left side of the panel.  The apples are accented with a tiny red button tied with cheery yellow baker's twine.  I adhered the patterned paper and sentiment panels to a piece of red cardstock, then attached them to a kraft card base.

Materials Used:
Teachers Count stamp set, apple dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Love Letter and Pear Tart inks, Memento Rich Cocoa marker (Tsukineko); Real Red cardstock, scallop edge punch (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Playdate 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); red button (Michaels); baker's twine (The Twinery); foam tape
