Sending Big Bear Hugs

***Click HERE for my Season's Givings Blog Hop post/giveaway!***

Here’s my card for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. I took my inspiration from the knit pattern in the warm and cozy mittens in the photo as a starting point for my card.

Sending Big Bear Hugs-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
Instead of knit mittens, I used a knit scarf on my design. I added the die cut scarf to a bear, cut with one of the Clear and Simple Stamps Little Critter Pals dies and stamped with the matching image from the Little Critter Pals 2 set. I cheated a bit here and die cut the image from kraft cardstock so I could have a brown bear with very little coloring needed!

I set my bear on a wintery scene made from some snowflake patterned paper and shimmery white “snow.” Those fun snowdrifts are cut with CSS’s Clouds Combo die. Turned upside down, they work great as snowdrifts, too, don’t they? For some contrast, I machine stitched around the edges of the patterned paper using bright red thread.  It's rare I change the thread on my machine--maybe I should try doing that  more often . . .

I stamped the “sending big bear hugs” sentiment on the shimmery white cardstock using gray ink. A few teeny, tiny red felt hearts scattered in the open space next to the bear echo the card’s love theme.

Materials Used:
Little Critter Pals 2, Little Critter Dress Up, and Taglines: Little Critter Pals stamp sets, You’re Such a Gray-cious Host and Perfect Little Black Dress ink, I Steel Got It, Kraft Like a Rockstar, and White Pearl cardstock, Copic markers (E31, E33, E34, RV13, C3), Little Critter Dress Up, Little Critter Pals, Clouds Combo, and Owl/Cat dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Wonderland 6x6 paper pad (Studio Calico); red felt; sewing machine; foam tape
