Color Throwdown 278-The Icing on My Cupcake

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Joan is our hostess this week and she’s shared a sweet color combination with us—Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette, White, Real Red, and Crumb Cake.

You're the Icing on my Cupcake-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's PajamasI was definitely inspired by the cupcakes in the photo. I used the One Cupcake stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas along with the current Deconstructed Sketch for my card. The big-eared bunny and cupcake were colored with Copic markers matching the challenge colors, then cut out and layered on a white panel with foam tape. I adhered the image panel over a stack of layered panels in the challenge’s pale pink and green colors, using one dotted panel to mix things up a bit.

Once the panels were in place, I added the “you’re the icing on my cupcake” sentiment beneath the bunny on a notch-ended strip. The opposite end of the sentiment panel is dressed up with a pink heart, die cut with TCP’s CutUps Talk to Me dies and embellished with a tiny pink gingham ribbon bow.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD278.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.  And, be sure to welcome our February guestie, Nicole Nastali, and our Guest Star Stamper, Heather North.
