Every One of My Thoughts

Here's my card for Verve's current Diva Inspirations challenge.  I used Verve's Poppy Birthday set to meet the challenge's "floral fantasy" theme, along with the current Deconstructed Sketch.

Every One of My Thoughts-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve StampsI was inspired by the bright reds and yellows in the inspiration photo and used those two colors in my card.  A quote from Verve's Always on My Mind set is the focal image.  It's stamped in black pigment ink for a bold look.  I accented the panel with a small red fishtail flag tab with a piece of knotted ribbon on top.  On the bottom, I used a piece of foam tape to adhere a large die cut poppy
image.

The panel is matted on yellow cardstock to coordinate with the yellow dotted paper I used to cover most of the cardfront.  I cut a trio of narrow red cardstock strips and arranged them diagonally across the bottom right corner of the dotted panel, just beneath the poppy.  The red stripes really draw your eye to the floral accent!

Materials Used:
Poppy Birthday, Always on my Mind stamp sets and Build a Poppy dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Love Letter, Pistachio, and Tuxedo Black inks (Tsukineko); Lemon Tart and Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Lemon Tart patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white cardstock, red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); Fishtail Flag Layers Stax dies (My Favorite Things); foam tape
