Have a Sweet Day

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Retro Sketches. I kind of stretched the elements of the sketch a bit to fit an easier to mail standard A2 sized card.

Have a Sweet Day-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse ConfettiI used the Love Notes die from Reverse Confetti to cut my focal image panel from white cardstock. The “have a sweet day” sentiment from the Sweet Thing set is stamped on the panel in pink pigment ink. I wrapped some pink and red baker’s twine around the panel just underneath the sentiment, finishing it with a bow. The little spaces between the scallops made a nice resting space for the twine.

To make the three strips underneath the panel, I used some chevron patterned washi tape on top of the pale pink cardstock panel. I layered the sentiment panel over the tape using foam tape for dimension. The left side of each of the tape strips is dressed up with a coordinating pink cardstock heart, cut with one of the heart dies from the Love Notes die set.

Materials Used:
Sweet Thing stamp set, Confetti Cuts Love Note die (Reverse Confetti); Memento Luxe Rose Bud ink (Tsukineko); Sweet Blush cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Melon Mambo cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); pink chevron washi tape (Hobby Lobby); baker’s twine; foam tape
