You Brighten My Day

Here’s my card for the current Lawnscaping challenge to "dust off" some unused supplies. I used an older Lawn Fawn stamp set along with the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for this simple, easy to mail design.

You Brighten My Day-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn FawnFor the trio of images, I used the sun and clouds from the Partly Cloudy set. The sun was stamped directly on the light blue panel in an orange-y pigment ink. The clouds were stamped in white pigment ink on vellum, then heat embossed and cut out. The embossing gives them a little bit of texture.

I adhered the clouds to the panel with some ScorTape, then stamped the “you brighten my day” sentiment from the Summertime Charm set directly over the clouds in navy pigment ink. A few white sequins around the images add a little sparkle to the simple design. I matted the panel on orange cardstock, then adhered it to an aqua card base.  As I look at it again now, I wish I'd left a slightly wider orange border around the light blue panel for more contrast . . .

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Partly Cloudy and Summertime Charm stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Luxe Morocco, Wedding Dress, and Nautical Blue inks, white sequins

other: Sea Glass and Aquamarine cardstock (Avery Elle); Orange Fizz cardstock (My Favorite Things); vellum (The Paper Company); white embossing powder (Michaels)
