Thanks Sew Much

Here's my card for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Bedtime Story sketch.  Layouts with angled panels like this one are usually pretty hard for me, but once I decided to approach this one like a quilt, complete with a sewing themed sentiment, this one came together pretty quickly.

Thanks Sew Much-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Waltzingmouse StampsUsing patterned papers from the same paper collection helped get me started.  I picked a trio of coordinating prints and arranged them on a white panel that is hidden behind them.  Once I had an arrangement I liked, I trimmed the panels to size, then ran a strip of pink grosgrain ribbon diagonally across the patterned papers.   You could see the patterns through the ribbon and that bothered me, so I tucked a strip of white cardstock underneath the ribbon to hide them.

I stamped the button image from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Charm Squares stamp set in pink pigment ink, then used a circle punch to cut it out.  I punched three more circles using the same punch, then stacked and adhered them to get a more button-like look.  After punching two holes in the button, I threaded it with twine and tied a bow.  It's adhered to the bottom of the card, just above the "thanks sew much" sentiment.

Materials Used:
Charm Squares stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Angel Pink and Gray Flannel inks (Tsukineko); Sweet Blush cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Vintage Marketplace 6x6 papers (Bazzill); pink grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); cream linen thread (The Cat's Pajamas); circle punch (EK Success)

  1. This is so adorable Lori. I love the fresh and soft spring colors you used...and what fun to have that button with the thread coupled with that "sew" adorable sentiment. Great job.
