Color Throwdown 286-Sending Hugs

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Joan is our hostess this week and she’s shared a pretty color combination with us—Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive.

Sending Hugs-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn FawnI put together a fun and cheery design using stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn along with the current sketch from Retro Sketches. I made a simple scene for the focal image panel, using blue patterned paper as the sky and green dotted patterned paper as grass. The sun and clouds were cut with dies from the Spring Showers die set. I arranged them at the top of the blue panel, using dimensional dots to adhere the sun. The “sending hugs” sentiment from the So Much to Say set was stamped in blue ink on a white strip and adhered to the panel at the top of the green patterned paper.

The sunny scene is adhered over a pair of yellow striped patterned paper panels, matted with olive cardstock so they’d stand out from the yellow card base. I added a little sparkle to the design with a trio of white sequins arranged in the open space between the sun and clouds and the sentiment.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD286.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our April guestie, Jeanne Jachna, and this week’s Guest Star Stamper, Deborah Frings.
