My Wise Friend

Here's my card for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS anything goes challenge.  I used the Paper Smooches Hooties stamp set along with the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for the card.

My Wise Friend-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Paper Smooches
I stamped the set's largest owl image on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out.  To make a backdrop for the owl, I used a piece of blue patterned paper as the nighttime sky, then added a piece of a yellow circle at the top of the patterned paper to make a moon.  I stamped the set's largest branch in brown ink on kraft cardstock.  I adhered it to the bottom of the patterned paper panel, extending beyond the panel's edge to the edge of the cardfront.  The owl is perched on top of the branch with the help of some dimensional dots.

The set's "my wise friend" sentiment was stamped on the pattened paper panel in white ink, then heat embossed in white so it would stand out from the printed background.  A few white sequin "stars" finish the scene.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papersPaper Smooches Hooties stamp set, Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa and Wedding Dress inks, Lawn Fawn Into the Woods 6x6 paper pad, white sequins, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Blue Bayou and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); markers (Copic); circle die (Spellbinders); white embossing powder (Michaels)
