Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 216-A Basket Full of Birthday Wishes

It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  The kindergarten teacher in me couldn't resist this sweet new stamp set from Avery Elle featuring characters inspired by Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks--and once I got it in my hands, I couldn't wait to use it.

A Basket Full of Birthday Wishes-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Avery Elle
I made a simple scene using Red and the set's cute fox.  To get the basket in Red's hand, I stamped the basket image first, then masked it with a sticky note before stamping Red on top.  The wolf was die cut with the matching die from the Red and Goldie die set, then adhered to the panel using dimensional dots.  To ground the characters, I stamped the set's grass image in green pigment ink.  I stamped a birthday sentiment in the upper left corner of the panel in black ink.  I'm thinking now that I should have used red ink . . .

The image is set on a floral panel from a Pink Paislee paper pad.  The pattern's broken up a bit with a red fishtail flag strip set over a pair of kraft cardstock strips.  I layered the panel on a red card base to match Red's hooded cape.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:
