TCP Tuesday 265-Birthday Blues

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge is a color challenge using melon, dark blue, and sky blue--so pretty!  I used the colors along with the current Deconstructed Sketch to create this fun birthday card.

Happy Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas
I started off by using TCP’s CutUps Dots die to emboss a dotted pattern on a light blue cardstock panel. I added a pair of banner strips cut from navy and melon cardstock at the top of the panel. They’re topped with a white strip stamped with the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Simply Said set. I tucked a light blue half circle under the bottom edge of the sentiment, then added a trio of melon colored enamel dots as an accent.

Instead of adding another banner strip in the lower left corner of the panel, I die cut numerals from navy cardstock using the TCP CutUps Numbers Plate die and adhered them at the bottom of the card. I matted the fnished panel on melon cardstock, then adhered it to a white card base.

I hope you'll join us for the challenge. You now have two weeks to link up your finished project on the TCP blog for a chance to win the Cat Cash prize--and to be in the running to be our next Swanky Stamper. The Swanky Stamper is selected from among all of the month's challenge entries and gets a selection of stamps from an upcoming release and joins the Cat Pack for our Pajama Party and Blog Hop. You can find all the details on the TCP blog.

Materials Used:
Simply Said stamp set, CutUps Framed Up 2, Numbers Plate, and Dots dies (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko); Melon Berry cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Soft Sky and Night of Navy cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); enamel dots (Prima)
