Thanks for Making my Day Awesome

Here's my card for this month's first April Viva la Verve challenge.  I combined the sketch and optional challenge colors with Verve's April Diva Inspirations chevron chic challenge on this thank you card.

Thanks for Making my Day Awesome-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve Stamps
I started off with a gray chevron paper panel from my 12x12 paper stash.  I ran a strip of pale pink grosgrain ribbon from my ribbon scrap pile across the paper on the diagonal, then topped it with the thank you sentiment from Verve's Better Together set.  The sentiment was stamped in gray to coordinate with the patterned paper.

To bring some green in to the design, I adhered a strip of green dotted paper at the bottom of the chevron patterned panel.  A die cut pennant trim strip hides the seam between the two papers.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the pennant strip is actually two layers--a pale pink on top and a dark gray on the bottom, slightly offset for a shadow-like look.  I finished the design with a pair of die cut hearts adhered to the bottom of the sentiment panel using foam tape for dimension.

Materials Used:
Better Together stamp set, Pennant Trim and Heart Quartet dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); Pink Pirouette cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Green Acres cardstock (WPlus); cream cardstock (Michaels); Soup Staples II-Green Salt and Gray Salt cardstock (Jillibean Soup); circle dies (Spellbinders); pink grosgrain ribbon; foam tape
