Waving Hello

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is an anything goes challenge. I used the Wicked Nauticool set along with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this hello card.

Waving Hello-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
I used the long vertical panel to make a watery background scene. I layered a pair of dark blue cardstock strips punched with a wave border punch to the bottom of a panel of blue dotted patterned paper. The sailboat from the Wicked Nauticool set was adhered over the panel using dimensional dots.  To fill in the panel a bit, I added a white cloud, die cut from shimmery white cardstock, to the top.

I adhered the scene to a kraft panel topped with a horizontal strip of red on red dotted paper. The set’s “waving hello” sentiment was stamped on the red paper in black pigment ink. I layered the finished panel on an easy to write on white card base.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Wicked Nauticool stamp set and Nauticool  and Clouds dies; Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock; Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink; Doodlebug Design Kraft in Color-Color 6x6 paper pad; Sticky Thumb dimensional dot

other: Pacific Point and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); markers (Copic); Boundary Waters border punch (Fiskars)
