Happy Birthday, Champ

I ordered a few new goodies from the last few Papertrey Ink releases recently and I hadn’t inked them up yet, so I pulled out one of my new sets for this week’s sketch from The Paper Players. This football themed set will be perfect for masculine birthday cards!

Happy Birthday, Champ card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink
I stamped the jersey image on a cream panel. It worked best for me when I stamped the darker color (stripes) first, then went back and stamped the jersey image. That may not be the case if I use different colors, but it helped this time! I matted the image on a kraft panel, then set it on a panel over a piece of dotted patterned paper. Instead of adding a round panel to the bottom of the panel with the jersey, I used the set’s football image. It’s adhered with foam tape for a little dimension.

I stamped the set’s “happy birthday, champ” sentiment at the bottom of the panel in navy blue pigment ink, then added a trio of copper brads to the upper right corner of the panel. The finished panel is adhered to a kraft card base.

Materials Used:
Football Frenzy stamp set, Kraft cardstock, Football Frenzy dies (Papertrey Ink); Memento Luxe Pistachio, Nautical Blue, and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); Soft Honeydew cardstock (WPlus9); cream cardstock, copper brads (Michaels); Kate and Co.-Oxford Lane 6x6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); foam tape
