Let Freedom Ring

This week’s blogger challenge theme is United States Armed Forces, in honor of Monday’s Memorial Day holiday. I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch to put together this simple patriotic design to mark the occasion.

Let Freedom Ring card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Papertrey Ink
I used stitched circle and star dies for the round panel at the right corner of the card. The circle and star were cut from navy cardstock, then backed with red cardstock to fill in the negative space. I adhered the star to the white panel on top of a pair of narrow banner strips. Each strip was anchored with a single silver brad. I stamped the “let freedom ring” sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Let Freedom Ring stamp set next to the die cut pieces using red pigment ink. After edging the panel with a narrow strip of red cardstock, I adhered it to a contrasting navy card base.

Materials Used:
Let Freedom ring stamp set (Papertrey Ink); Night of Navy and Real Red cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Stitched Circle and Stitched Star dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); Favor Flags dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Cherry ink (Avery Elle); silver brads (Joann); foam tape
