Mother's Day Bouquet

Here's my card for this week's Muse challenge.  I was inspired by Vicki's card's color scheme and its beautiful dimensional floral focal point, as well as the the Mother's Day theme.

Happy Mother's Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps
My flowers are on a larger scale than Vicki's.  They started off as a plain cream, but I wanted something with color, so I brushed the edges of the petals against a red distress ink pad, coloring both the flowers and my fingers . . . I adhered the flowers to a white panel and tucked a green die cut leaf underneath them to fill out the arrangement.  The "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment from Verve's Because of You stamp set was stamped above the flowers in gray ink.  I wrapped the bottom of the panel with some red twine and secured the twine with a simple bow.

I added contrast behind the panel by covering the right side of the card base with a piece of blue patterned paper.  The left side is covered with a blue cardstock panel, edged with a narrow strip of red to add a pop of color.

Materials Used:
Because of You stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); Barn Door distress ink (Ranger); Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sweet Shoppe 6x6 paper pad (Lily Bee Design); Die-namics Layered Leaves dies (My Favorite Things); flowers (The Paper Source); red twine
