Mother's Day Muse

Here's my card for this week's Muse challenge.  I was inspired by the simple layout and the pink, gray, and white color scheme, but switched the card's theme to one appropriate for Mother's Day--and for this week's blogger challenge theme, too.

For My Mom card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker DesignsOn my card, instead of cutting out the die cut word multiple times and layering the die cuts for dimension, I inlaid the word on my stitched die cut panel.  To get dimension like ink the Muse card, I cut the heart shape inside the "o" in "mom" multiple times and stacked them, then adhered them in place inside the word.  So, my card uses both inlaid die cutting and layered die cuts at the same time!

I stamped the "for my" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Mom and Dad Sentiments stamp set just above the die cut word in gray ink.  The finished panel is adhered to a pink card base using foam tape for dimension.

Materials Used:
Mom and Dad Sentiments stamp set, Mom and Stitched Rectangle dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sweet Blush cardstock (Papertrey Ink); foam tape

  1. I went with a Mother's day theme for my card too (posting tomorrow). Love that you filled in the o with a different colour. Great to see you at Muse this week, Lori!

  2. Lori, this is lovely. I love that despite you going for the same colour combination and layout as Gillian's, this is such a completely different card. Adore the sweet 'o' Laura xx
