Seize the Sketch 21-My Shining Star

It's time for a new sketch at Seize the Sketch!  This sketch is courtesy of Lori Turner and it's another super versatile one.  Wait until you see what the STS team has done with it!

You're My Shining Star card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple StampsI used one of the Clear and Simple Stamps rag dolls for my card.  I thought that one of the leaning dolls would work perfectly with the sketch--and it did!  This one is Rag Doll Emma:  Happy.  I stamped her on a matching die cut, then used a combination of Copic markers and paper piecing to fill in the image.

She's adhered to a pink chevron patterned panel using foam tape.  I stamped the "you're my shining star" sentiment from the Rag Doll Mia:  Star set next to her so that it looks like she's leaning on the text.  I love how the rag dolls and their sentiments are interchangeable--the RD Mia:  Star isn't leaning, so she wouldn't work for what I wanted here, but the text was perfect!  I added a few tiny silver embossed stars to fill in the open space at the top of the panel, drawing lines from the stars to the top of the panel to anchor them.  Now that I look at it again, I probably should have drawn the lines straight and not slanted . . .

Don't miss what the rest of the STS team has created using the sketch.  Here's where to find them:
