You Anchor Me

Did you see the exciting news earlier this week? That’s right, I’m rejoining the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge design team starting next week! I’m so excited to be back! In the meantime, here’s my take on this week’s Designer Draft challenge. I went with a nautical design using the Wicked Nauticool stamp set and coordinating Nauticool dies.

You Anchor Me card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Paper SmoochesI made a backdrop for the set’s sailboat image with a piece of striped patterned paper for the sky and a hand cut piece of curvy blue cardstock for the water. I die cut a pinking edged circle from yellow cardstock and topped it with a dotted yellow circle to form a sun, then added it to the scene. A die cut felt cloud outline finished off the backdrop.

The boat was stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers, then cut out with the matching die. I adhered it to the scene using dimensional dots. The set’s “you anchor me” sentiment was stamped in black ink on a narrow red cardstock strip and adhered at the bottom of the cardfront.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Wicked Nauticool stamp set, Nauticool and Clouds dies; Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink; Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka and Hello Sunshine designer papers; Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); circle and pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); white felt
