Hugs and Kisses

Here’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I used the layout to make a super feminine birthday card with stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps.

Hugs and Kisses birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
I started out by using coordinating pink papers—one solid cardstock panel and one diagonally striped panel—to cover most of a white cardfront. I topped the panels with a pretty white paper doily. The sentiment from the Cake Decorating Extras set was a perfect fit for the sketch’s rectangular panel. I stamped the text block image in pink pigment ink, then matted it on pink cardstock and layered it over the doily.

The sentiment was accented with a heart cut with one of CSS’s Hearts Plus dies. I cut a white strip with one of the Favor Flag dies, then cut it apart at the center and tucked the straight, cut ends underneath the sentiment panel to make one long double ended banner strip. A trio of very pale pink enamel dots scattered around the cardfront finished the design.

Materials Used:
Cake Decorating Extras stamp set, I’m a Princess Pink and A Blanc Check cardstock, Hearts Plus and Favor Flags dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Memento Luxe Angel Pink ink (Tsukineko); Love Note 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); pink enamel dots (Prima); white paper doily; foam tape
