Bundle of Joy

Here's my card for the current Card Concept baby themed challenge.  I used this week's sketch from Retro Sketches to make this clean and layered gender neutral design.

Bundle of Joy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
The focal image is from Lawn Fawn's Plus One set.  I shaded the stork a bit with Copic markers, then paper pieced the bundle using a scrap of green on green striped patterned paper.  Lawn Fawn recently released matching dies for the set, but I don't have them, so I cut the stork image out by hand.  It's adhered to a round panel using dimensional dots.  The "bundle of joy" sentiment was stamped just beneath the image using black ink.

I paired the image with a piece of patterned paper covered with pastel polka dots.  Perfect for a baby card, isn't it?  After running a strip of yellow cardstock down the panel and wrapping the panel with a strip of narrow celery green ribbon, I added the image panel on top.  Instead of accenting the upper left side of the panel with a trio of buttons, I used a half circle of yellow cardstock, matching the cardstock I used underneath the image.  The finished panel was adhered to a celery card base to coordinate with the colors in the bundle of joy the stork is carrying.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papersLawn Fawn Plus One stamp set; Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock; Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Copic markers; Simple Stories Hello Baby 6x6 paper pad; Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Barely Banana and Certainly Celery cardstock, celery grosgrain ribbon (Stampin' Up!); Grout Gray cardstock (My Favorite Things); circle die (Spellbinders); pierced circle die (My Favorite Things); circle punch (EK Success)
