May Today Be Sweet

Here's my card for the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch.  I used the Bowl of Sunshine stamp set from Papertrey Ink to put this sweet card together in no time at all.

May Today Be Sweet card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink
After a quick practice run on a piece of scrap paper, I used three pigment inks to stamp the bowl, apples, and leaves on a white cardstock panel. I wanted to add another pop of color, so I decided to stamp the sentiment on a green banner strip to pick up the color of the tiny leaves.  After stamping the text on the banner strip, I trimmed off both ends.  They're adhered directly to the cardfront.  The rest of the banner is adhered over the little pointy ends, using foam tape for dimension.  It gives the appearance that the ends are folded under, but they're not--it's just a quick cheat to get a similar look.

Materials Used:
Bowl of Sunshine stamp set, Aqua Mist and Limeade Ice cardstock, Double-Ended Banner die (Papertrey Ink); Aquamarine, Cherry, and Lemon Grass inks (Avery Elle); Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); foam tape
