Color Throwdown 305-Sending Hugs

It’s time for another Color Throwdown!  I've been spending the last few days getting my kindergarten classroom ready for the start of the year, so these fun alphabet and number posters are a very fitting inspiration for this week's color palette--Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Kiwi Kiss, and Tangerine Tango.

Sending Hugs card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn FawnI used the colors along with the current sketch from Retro Sketches to make this cheery design.  I covered a Bermuda Bay panel with a pair of striped patterned paper panels, then adhered the panel to a gray card base.

The striped panels were topped with a simple scene I made on a smaller Bermuda Bay panel. I die cut a sun from orange cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers dies.  The sun was adhered to the top right side of the panel, then topped with a white felt cloud cut with another die from the Spring Showers set.  A strip of Kiwi Kiss grass was adhered at the bottom of the panel.  I stamped the "sending hugs" sentiment from the So Much to Say set on gray cardstock in a shimmery silver ink, then added it on top of the scene.  I accented it with a trio of silver sequins.  My original plan was to use some enamel dots, but the sequins caught my eye and I made the switch.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD305.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our August guestie, Jodi Collins, and this week’s guest star stamper, Maura.
