Happy First Day of School

This week's blogger challenge theme is "back to school," which is so appropriate with my impending return to classroom teaching.  In fact, today is my school's Open House and this afternoon, I'll be meeting many of my kindergarten students for the very first time.  Wish me luck!

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for my design.  I stamped the "happy 1st day of school" sentiment from the Clear and Simple Stamps Rag Doll House:  School set on a black circle and heat embossed it in white for a chalkboard style look.  The sentiment panel was layered over a pair of coordinating patterned paper panels set on a golden yellow background.  After layering on a narrow blue cardstock strip and a red Favor Flag die cut, I added the bookworm from the Flashcards set on top.  The finished panel was adhered to an easy to write on white card base.
