Hey There, Sunshine

Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch.  I combined the sketch with the optional challenge colors--orange, aqua, and gray--for this sunshine themed card.

Hey There, Sunshine card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps
I built the card on a plain white card base, starting with a striped gray paper panel.  The gray panel was wrapped with contrasting orange grosgrain ribbon before I adhered it to the cardfront.

The gray strip was topped with a pair of aqua paper panels.  The "hey there, sunshine" sentiment (one of Verve's Plain Janes) was stamped on the dotted paper in orange ink, then heat embossed in orange embossing powder to make it pop against the pale backgorund.  Once the panels were in place, I topped them with a sun made from a die cut pinking edged circle and an orange gingham circle.  A few sparkly silver sequins finished the design.

Materials Used:
Sunshine Plain Jane (Verve Stamps); Fizz ink (Avery Elle); Steel Grey cardstock,Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist, Smokey Shadow, and Orange Zest patterned papers (Papertrey Ink); pinking circle die (Spellbinders); circle punch (EK Success); orange grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); Zing Apricot embossing powder (American Crafts); silver sequins (Treehouse Studio); foam tape
