Warm Wishes

Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do to represent the sketch's trio of parallel lines.  The beautiful birch trees in the Avery Elle Let it Snow set ended up being perfect for the challenge--after I flipped the placement of the parallel lines from the right side of the card to the left.

I stamped the trees in brown pigment ink on a kraft panel, then stamped the set's snowflake image around the trees using white pigment ink.  The "warm wishes" sentiment was stamped next to the trees in red pigment ink.  To soften the look of the design, I used an ink blending tool to apply some distress ink to the edges of the panel.  I wrapped a piece of red grosgrain ribbon around the panel and secured it with a knot, then adhered the panel to a dark brown card base.
