The Challenge 17-Boo Y'All

The Challenge is back with a new sketch and color combo--and a new design team member, too! We're excited to be welcoming Maura to the team with today's challenge.  Be sure to check out her gallery here

Boo Y'All card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas I used both the sketch and color palette for my card.  The colors were perfect for a Halloween design featuring the Boo Y'All set from the latest release from The Cat's Pajamas.  I colored the big eared bunny turned Grim Reaper with Copic markers.  He's adhered to a  background I created with distress inks and a little reverse masking.  The splotchy dots are from some irRESISTible texture spray that I flicked on to the inked background panel.  Once the dots dried, I used foam tape to adhere the image on top.

The image is layered over an orange patterned paper strip adhered to a kraft panel.  I added the set's "boo y'all" sentiment at the bottom of the image panel.  All of the layers were matted on black cardstock to give them a nice pop.

Don't miss what the rest of the amazing challenge team has created to inspire you!  We're thrilled to be welcoming some new team members on board today Here's where to find them:

  3. Such a fun card! The "splats" add a great detail and I agree about how the black matting creates such a great pop! I've admired many of your cards in the past (on your blog and pinterest) and I'm excited to be on a team with you! Thanks for your nice welcome.
